We know the importance of health, and further, if we have a healthy body in order to keep healthy. The diseases are good for nothing ... limited physical and mental capacity, undermine the economy and can disrupt the goals we set.
So please take care of your body, your health. We must learn to control the mind to remove the bad habits that harm us and inform us so that ignorance does not affect us and cause disease.
Do not do things that harm our body. Saying "something we have to die" is the stupidest thing anyone can say. It is better to be healthy in order to realize all the goals we have in our lives. Our mission in life is to be productive and do not waste that opportunity.
Researchers find new reconstruction method for breast tissue
A recent study which appeared in IOP Publishing's journal Biofabrication states that medicine has borrowed techniques from building designs to implement in the reconstruction of breast tissue for patients diagnoses with cancer. A new program which until recently was used exclusively to design buildings, various machines and bridges has been modified to design a computer 3D mould of a women's breast to aid doctors in the reconstruction of breast tissue.
The program is called CAD and makes the work of plastic surgeons and cosmetic surgeons more easy, efficient and higher in quality level. CAD can design the necessary tissues depending on what the patient needs and can be manipulated with no previous training.
This new techniques offer many advantage but the most important one would be that the CAD manages to deliver a structure on which a culture of the patients own cells could be grown and latter be installed in the desired place. Patients until now had to give up their own tissue from other parts of their bodies to cover the desired place. This method meant that patients had to go under surgery just to retrieve tissue, not to mention the risks they were exposed to during surgery but with the new computer aided method none of that is necessary anymore.
This new technique works by first making a laser scan of the healthy breast, then use the computer aided program to design a silicon structure that meets the patient's biometrical specifications. The structure would be covered with a high porosity material and load it with the patient's cells together with a hydrogel. The last step of the process is to implant the end product.
With every patient that on which this method would be applied, doctors noticed that the breasts would tend to have a higher level of symmetry and a better shape while consequently the patients would become more satisfied with the operation and the end results.
The new method looks very promising and doctors hope that in a few years the CAD will be able to design various forms and use them in more types of surgeries.
